This standard was officially implemented on ‌July 1, 2006‌, primarily to regulate the materials and manufacturing processes of electronic and electrical products, making them more conducive to human health and environmental protection‌.

The ‌EU RoHS 2.0 (10 substances, 2011/65/EU)‌ represents the latest version of the RoHS standard‌. On ‌July 21, 2011‌, the revised RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU) replaced the previous version (2002/95/EC), which covered only ‌6 restricted substances.
